PROJECT OVERVIEW
Both the property freeholder and leaseholders required a substantial amount of work to be completed to this prominent building within Hastings Old Town. The project included traditional lime repointing in full to the top two lifts along with spot pointing across the rest of the elevation. Window repairs, roof repairs and complete woodwork decoration.
OUR ROLE
The outer elevation to the property was in complete disrepair. Our team got to work removing the blown mortar from the brickwork joints to the top 2 lifts of the elevation, alongside the worst areas on the rest of the building. We worked hard to complete a traditional report in lime mortar to the brickwork. We then got to work on the windows. These required the sashes to be removed, taken back to bare timber, glass panes replaced and the windows redecorated along with new sash cords. We finished off by replacing the fascia boards in full, installing new cast iron guttering including new Victorian style cast iron gutter clips, and painted the original downpipe.

THE RESULT
The commercial property had a new full height ceiling to the front, updated electrics, newly decorated finish and a much smoother finish throughout. The property was let within just 2 weeks.
